Traffic Impact Study for the Caulfield Bridge and Extension Project (City of Petaluma)

The proposed Caulfield Bridge would provide a connection across the Petaluma River between E D Street and US 101, improving city-wide connectivity. W-Trans prepared a traffic impact analysis to determine how this new link would alter traffic patterns and affect nearby intersections. As this study was conducted during the COVID-19 pandemic, special attention was given to the collection and adjustment of existing volumes to anticipate 2021 conditions had the pandemic not occurred. The potential impacts to vehicle miles traveled was also assessed for this project as well as the potential compounding effect of the proposed Rainier Avenue Bridge.
