18 Jul Stony Point Road Corridor Study for Active Transportation Modes (City of Santa Rosa)
Stony Point Road was designated by the City of Santa Rosa as a high priority for pedestrian and bicycle improvements due to the high incidence of collisions and injuries. W-Trans analyzed potential improvements and developed concept plans that included Class IV bikeways to provide bicyclists with additional protection from vehicle traffic; geometric modifications to enhance the crossing at the popular Joe Rodota Trail; and curb extensions and RRFBs to enhance pedestrian safety at uncontrolled crossings of freeway ramp entrances. W-Trans conducted an online community engagement process, including two community workshops, two online surveys, and presentations to the City’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board. Outreach was conducted in Spanish as well as English to reach the residents of this disadvantaged area.
