Danville Boulevard Corridor Improvements (County of Contra Costa)

Danville Boulevard Corridor ImprovementsThe Danville Boulevard traffic improvement and streetscape plan for the County of Contra Costa Department of Public Works focused on reducing travel speeds and increasing pedestrian safety while providing capacity for shopping traffic in this core area of the unincorporated area of Alamo. This project has been used as an example of context sensitive design on an urban arterial in Context Sensitive Solutions in Designing Major Urban Thoroughfares for Walkable Communities, Institute of Transportation Engineers, 2006. In 2015, W-Trans was contracted by the County to refresh the proposed roundabout design and present updated traffic operation findings to the business community.
