Zack Matley

ZackZack Matley is a Principal and has a wide focus area ranging from Complete Street areawide planning to a unique specialization in roundabout planning operations and design.  Zack is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).


Zack joined W-Trans in 1998, three years after the company’s founding. His education and experience produce a rare combination of knowledge of the urban and environmental planning disciplines, along with expertise in transportation planning, engineering, and operations. Some of his favorite projects are those that tap into both the planning and engineering realms, including Complete Street retrofits and working on the circulation-related components of Specific Plans, as well as those involving roundabout design and feasibility studies. Zack holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Policy Analysis and Planning from the University of California, Davis, and dual M.S. degrees in City and Regional Planning and Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He is a member of both the American Planning Association (APA) and Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE).
