The City of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, is in the midst of ambitious development of a vibrant, intensely-developed downtown near the geographical center of the city. W-Trans assisted the City Centre planning and design team (Kellogg + Associates and Urban Earth Design) with the transportation components of the plan. Our role included analysis and input relative to the configuration of streets both within and surrounding City Centre, including a planned new campus of the University of New Mexico. W-Trans assisted with the creation of appropriate roadway cross sections that balance the transit-supportive and pedestrian-oriented nature of the plan with the need to provide effective vehicular access to and from the regional roadway network.
