W-Trans led a team of six consulting firms in the preparation of PS&E for the installation of a roundabout in the City of Grass Valley that was constructed in 2008, and has recently won the Engineer’s Association of Nevada County (EANC) Project of the year award. One leg of the intersection provides access to SR 20, so the design was coordinated through and reviewed by Caltrans, including preparation and acceptance of a Concept Approval Report (CAR). The City required regular progress reports indicating the status of work for all six firms working on the project as well as adherence to the schedule. To achieve the level of detail required, Dalene Whitlock prepared monthly status reports, scheduled regular team meetings, developed and followed up on action items, and maintained communication with the entire design team.
