The Northern Downtown Pedestrian Linkages Study included the corridor of Sixth Street-Seventh Street between E Street on the east side of downtown to Railroad Square, west of US 101 in the City of Santa Rosa. The plan provided recommendation for treatments to improve pedestrian and bicycle access along the corridor which included a new undercrossing of US 101. The “demonstration project” of the corridor incorporated two roundabout intersections on A Street to create a slower corridor on the section which connects Sixth and Seventh Streets. The study was authored by RRM Design Group, and W-Trans provided traffic engineering support.
